One-year milestone for Discovery graduate!

Discovery graduate Erika Sigaud of Dallas celebrated one year of sobriety last month. After years of abusing alcohol and drugs, Erika has been clean and sober since she graduated the Discovery Training program in November of 2010 and credits Discovery for being the catalyst to fight for a different life and know she deserved it. Erika now shares her inspirational story often and does whatever she can to help others struggling with addiction anytime she has the opportunity.
Congratulations Erika!

"Discovery changed me..."

"Discovery changed me as an individual by giving me the confidence I needed to succeed. It also gave me gifts that I never could have imagined. During my Discovery journey, my father-in-law passed away and my youngest son was born. My Discovery family was there every step of the way. Thank you, Discovery for not only difference you made in me, but for the friendships that will last a lifetime!"

Discovery RELATIONSHIP was a huge success!

Discovery Training had their biannual Discovery RELATIONSHIP training last weekend where many couples experienced the freedom and growth that come with more intimate communications.

Roy and Diana Mauldin, of Wichita Falls, attended Discovery RELATIONSHIP training last weekend and had a great time. Diana said, "The whole experience was just wonderful. It was fun. It was romantic. It was serious. It was silly. It really gives you that solid foundation every relationship needs. It was perfect!"

Here is their photo taken at Discovery RELATIONSHIP last weekend. What a beautiful couple!

Living her mission

In Discovery's D3 Training, our participants use a special process to come up with their own unique, personal missions to help make the world a better place. Recent Discovery graduate Mindy Page is living her mission in a big way as she just completed this beautiful mural on the walls of the Autism Treatment Center in Dallas. Mindy's mission is "to improve the quality of life of those affected by autism, through her God-given talents as an artist."  Way to live your mission Mindy!

Taking Discovery Training on the road

Discovery Training set up a booth at the "Girls Night Out" event at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls last week so we could share the benefits of Discovery with many wonderful new women.

A big thank you to Discovery graduates and volunteers Christine LeBlanc and Suni Hart for all their help and energy at the event as they shared their passion for Discovery with others.

Discovery Training in Dallas is a personal growth seminar where participants can discover for themselves how to live with more freedom, courage, purpose and confidence!

Discovery Dallas donates supplies to U.S. Troops

At the July Discovery weekend, Discovery Dallas accepted donations of supplies to send to our adopted platoon fighting in Afghanistan. Our wonderful Discovery participants and graduates came through donating requested items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, beef jerky, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, twizzlers and much more!

Discovery participants also wrote over 75 heartfelt letters of gratitude and support, which will be included in the shipment overseas.

Thank you Discovery participants!

The supply donation was just one part of the veteran celebration Discovery Dallas had at the July Discovery weekend! We celebrated our veterans all weekend!  It was our kickoff to the NEW Combat Veteran Scholarship program where we invite combat veterans to go through the Discovery Dallas program with their tuition fees WAIVED!  It is just one way Discovery Dallas can thank our veterans for their sacrifice, commitment and selfless service that benefits us all.

THANK YOU VETERANS!

Discovery makes positive impact on 21-year veteran

By Dave Toms
Retired U.S. Air Force

My life for the most part can be described as very successful and blessed. I have achieved many of the personal goals that I have set for myself.

I retired from active military service almost 4 years ago after a very successful 21 year career. During my time in the service, I faced many of life’s challenges from deployments, constant moves, divorce, to the loss of a child. I never fully realized how some of these events lingered and affected my outlook on life. Too many times we settle for a quick superficial or “band-aid” fix to some of life's "wounds".

Discovery Training taught me awareness and put me in touch with feelings and events I had “buried alive.” Working through the three Discovery! classes has completely changed the way I reflect on my life and my outlook for the future.

I have attended many professional development courses, inspirational speeches and Christian retreats over the years – nothing has made such a positive impact on my life like Discovery! has. My Discovery! buddies are as close to me as the folks I deployed with – a bond has been created that I know will last this lifetime and beyond. The best thing about Discovery! is that the learning and opportunities to grow don’t
have to end. I know that I will continue to learn and apply the tools I have been given through the Discovery experience for the rest of my life and that I will make Discovery! weekends a regular part of my life. My only regret is that it took me 47 years to connect with Discovery!

I can’t think of a single person I have ever met that does not DESERVE this experience.
